One City One Story, 2021: Dumba Chora

'One City One Story' is an annual contest run by the Boston Book Festival, inspired by the program One Story. It takes the concept of an 'all city read' a step farther by invited local authors to submit short stories.

The story that is selected by a few rounds of review by judges is printed in a chapbook size. 20,000 hardcopies are distributed for free throughout the Boston region through libraries, bookstores etc. as well as being shared online. A number of translations are also offered online. A panel with the author is part of the festival, including a townhall type Q&A. Book club discussions and panels the author often ensue in surrounding towns. â€‹
